The Lion Dance - Part II

After this video, I took them out of their seats and held them so they could get a better look at it after it went around the corner out of our view. They starting pointing and jabbering about it and then Eden decided he really liked it and danced along as best he could. It reminds me (fondly) of Joey dancing to Drum and Bass - for any of those out there that have seen this, you'll understand :)

The Lion Dance - Part I

I took the boys to Doc Chey's in Grant Park with the help of Adam for their Chinese New Year Celebration. I knew they were going to have the Lion dance and wanted the boys to experience that. I know they like "puppets" on TV and Eden likes Music, so I thought I'd give the larger than life version a shot. We were sharing a plate of "Lucky Foods" when the firecrackers and drums started. They were doing well despite how loud everything was until they saw the Lion. It was less than 10 seconds when they both turned around and started screaming.

2011 VA VAcation

We all had a fantastic time at the resort last week. After leaving my cousin's house Monday afternoon, we drove up the rest of the way to the resort where we were joined by Joey's mom & step-dad, cousins Lauren, Logan and their daughter Tillie and the following day Kristy. there was still snow on the ground when we got there but it melted within a couple days. Joey's godparents, Uncle Jerry & Aunt Linda brought Grammy Lynn from Charlottesville with them to visit for the day and Aunt Jane and Jenny came later that night for dinner as well. We ate well, the kids all received their first haircuts, had their first pony rides, and the boys and Joey and I even got to enjoy some swimming in the indoor pool. We are looking forward to going back to visit again, maybe in the fall this time. It's a popular summer spot so we'll see what we can sneak in.
