who let my babies start to turn into little boys?

The cribs have been lowered. The exersaucers have been put away. They are primarily drinking from sippy cups with the exception of a bottle with oatmeal before bed to help them sleep through the night. Every day I look at them they somehow grow another inch taller or babbling starts to sound more like words. It looks like Isaac may finally get some teeth popping through soon. Eden had learned how to move around the room better, still by rolling, but he has gotten more use from his legs and arms while doing so. Isaac uses every opportunity he has to dig his toes into whatever they are put against in an attempt to move around and gets up on his knees and scoots on his face. He loves to stand and when I stand and hold him by his hands, he picks up his feet in the walking motion. I can't believe they will be 10 months old a week from tomorrow!!!

Isaac's Pulmonology & Urology update

This past Friday Isaac had his 3 month follow up with Dr. Lang, his pulmonologist about the state of his lungs and breathing. She said he again sounded great and would like to see him one more time in the fall just to evaluate the possibility of RSV shots again, but at this time, she didn't think he would need them. We also talked briefly about the recall on Tylenol and Motrin products and she made sure to let us know it was only the manufacturer and in most cases, generic brands are just as effective. Eden came with us so she was able to finally meet him and see just how different they are.

Before birth, one of Isaac's kidney's was slightly larger than the other. They just kept an eye on it and decided to follow up with a urologist after he was born. Because he was premature, he was also born with a PDA (hole in his heart). The treatment they used was an Ibuprofen injection which closed the hole, but caused hydronephrosis as a result. He wasn't able to be circumcised until an ultrasound was taken of his kidney to see if it had resolved itself over time and he was six months old so he could receive anesthesia for the procedure. At the beginning of April, the ultrasound and surgery were performed. The ultrasound still showed excess fluid on the kidney so today they did a VCUG (Voiding Cystourethrogram) to see if it was caused by reflux of urine back into the kidney from the bladder. The results was that it was not reflux and will likely resolve itself as he ages (common) so they will do a follow up ultrasound in a year.

So aside from those 2 pending appointments, Isaac is clear from all his previous medical issues. Thank you to everyone for all your prayers. We look forward to spending the rest of the year visiting friends and family and trying to make up for lost time :)

We had a wonderful mother's day, I got some fantastic gifts and spent some time with family (we missed you Jaimie and Ethan - poor little man got step again :()
