Happy Thanksgiving

We didn't take too many pictures - we got to my parent's house about 30 minutes late so we got to eating ASAP :) The boys have been very cranky and sleep deprived = so am I - with fevers for the past 2 - 3 days because of incoming molars. Eden now has all 4 of his first 4 molars and Isaac has his bottom 2. I guess the figured out what Thanksgiving had in store and wanted to get some more chompers prepared. Poor little things didn't eat much outside of mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cranberry sauce (which Eden LOVES) because their mouths hurt so bad. We all had a good day of stuffing ourselves, especially with the 3 different kinds of stuffing that was made! I am eternally grateful for everything I have been given and yet to receive. I have a fantastic family and bunch of friends and am looking forward to what the next year will provide for me to be thankful for.

Big Weekend

We had so much fun this weekend, catching up with old and new friends. Saturday was spent in Marietta at Andy and Rachel Kemp's Matrimonial Cookout. The food was awesome, the events were fun to watch, I had trouble doing the hora with a child in my arms though :) It was all very sweet and engaging to witness as the actual wedding was somewhat of a surprise thing a few months back. It was good to see everyone, as I feel like I've been hiding in a hole babysitting from roasts and other events I would have liked to attend. Part of being a parent though, so I'm okay with it. I didn't take a lot of pictures short of Anna and Isaac snuggling as he slept, nor did I get to talk to as many people as I would have liked to since I was chasing the midgets around and feeding them, but it felt good just to be around old friends. Worlds different than just checking in to see what everyone is doing via facebook.

Sunday we joined thousands of other people for the Friend & Family day at Atlanta Zoo. We waited in line for about an hour before getting in, but the boys were mostly tolerant so it wasn't too bad. Once we got to the window, I knew it was going to be $10 but didn't factor in taxes, so after I took out my change purse to get out the extra $.80 and suddenly heard the guy at the ticket counter saying "ma'am, don't worry about it". I expected him to at least keep the $10 I already gave him, but he handed it back to me as well so we wound up getting in for free! We found Sarah and Orin and their friends shortly thereafter and paraded our stroller trains around through the crowds as we caught glimpses of the different animals that were still out. Eden liked the otters and would giggle and point to them as well as the black sun bear. By the time we got to the panda's, they were pretty tired and over it. I made the mistake of checking out the elephants first so I missed the giraffe's completely (my fav), but we're making plans to go back again in the spring with the family sometime - maybe by them the boys can walk :) Sadly, I didn't take any pictures, but there wasn't much time or space to do so anyways. I didn't get to talk much to Sarah's friends either, but it was nice to meet some new people (with kids) as well.

As of late...

The boys have been in a weird state as of late. They usually take a nap in the morning, lunch, playtime/errands/whatever and then another afternoon nap around 3:30 to 4. I bring them to their room to play for a few minutes while I change them and get the last bits of energy expended, I give them water and them they sit in my lap while I rock them for a minute to see if they're sleepy or not. Isaac is always more than happy to lay down and Eden seems to be too but lately he's started throwing his pacifier so I'll have to get it for him and if I don't, he just wiggles nonstop. I put them both in their cribs and before I'm even out the door, Eden is wailing like I told him he'd never eat again!

They usually have a snack in the car if we're doing errands as well as if we're just at home playing, but he acts like he's going to starve. As soon as I give him a cup (even just water), he's fine. I'm afraid he doesn't know how to sooth himself without food/drink which will obviously be problematic when he gets older. Joey thinks he's trying to drop his afternoon nap, but I'm not sure, and Isaac definitely isn't ready yet - he's a mess by the end of dinner if he doesn't get one due to Eden's screaming. I've even tried separating them so Isaac can at least sleep, but them he get's scared/lonely/no idea, and starts to cray. They sleep well at night (THANK GOD), but Eden just broke through a molar yesterday so I'm sure that's part of it.

Playing Hide & Seek in the curtains in their bedroom.

Other than that, they are cruising around, getting into as much as they have access too. I have "stations" set up all over the house so when they follow me during housework, they usually have something to distract them from wanting me to pick them up immediately. Thursday morning are still spent at the library which we all really enjoy. Eden's getting a little more adventurous, so it's a little tougher keeping my eye on both of them, but whenever we sing the songs at home, their eyes light up and they get really into it. Delila has a bad habit of not seeing them and successfully backs/runs over Isaac at least once a day, usually more. Polli has a hard time not running in front of them to get up or down the stairs and when she attempts to play, she barks, which usually sends Isaac into a mini-breakdown.

We went to the Dwarf House last Friday and they were giving little Chick-fil-a cows. The whole way home, I was teaching Eden how to say moo like a how, but he would just go "mmmmmmmmm!" as loud and high pitched as he could. The "ooo" is starting to make it's way to the end now though :) And today, one the toys randomly meowed and they both looked up and went "cat"! I'm trying to get them to ask for things using words or sign language more to try to help diffuse the crying that goes on before meals/close to naps. Isaac is great about saying "up" or "all done" when he wants to get up from the table, but Eden still just resides to pushing everything off the table. but we're working through it. The only thing I tend to lose my patience with is biting. it's gotten to the point where when they just lean in to give me a kiss, I get nervous or flinch because I never know if it's going to be followed by a bite. Joey compared it to puppy teeth, but at least you can separate the jaw of the puppy when that's happening. I have a checkerboard of bruises on my right shoulder - apparently that's the "best" place to bite.

End of October

Went to the Day out with Thomas in Cordelle, GA. It was a long drive there, super hot, and the bugs would aggravate the mess out of ya! but even after some frustrations trying to board the train, we had a pretty decent time. On the way home, we shared peanut butter sandwiches, as you can see, the boys loved them!

Bath time!!!

Eden was very patient to wait for his turn :)
